Finding the Messiah

Day 24: Finding the Messiah Through Al Massira

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13

Tears of joy stream down *Moosa’s face as he embraces the young refugee stepping out of the baptism pool, water still glistening on his shoulders. Around them, a circle of young men cheer, arms linked, celebrating a life transformed. For Moosa, this moment feels deeply personal—because it reminds him of his own journey from darkness to light.

Moosa was born into an Arab Muslim family in the Middle East. He always believed in one God, yet never imagined that God could know him personally—or care about his life. Seeking better opportunities, Moosa eventually moved from the Middle East to Europe, where he met a group of warm, welcoming Christians who helped him settle into his new home. They invited him to join an Al Massira group—a 13-session film-based course that tells the story of God’s plan of salvation, from Adam and Noah to Jesus the Messiah.

Each week, Moosa sat captivated by the stories of the prophets. The discussions stirred something deep within him. When the group reached the story of King David, Moosa’s heart was moved by the promise of a coming Savior and that night, he decided to follow Jesus. Soon after, he was baptized alongside ten others from Arab and Persian backgrounds.

That decision marked the beginning of an incredible journey of redemption. God not only healed Moosa from years of depression but also called him into ministry. Through the mentorship of faithful believers, Moosa grew into a passionate leader who now serves as a missions pastor, training others to share the gospel among the nations.

Today, Moosa continues to worship the One who rescued him. His life is a living testimony that no one is beyond the reach of God’s love—and that Jesus truly makes all things new.

HOW CAN WE PRAY FOR MUSLIMS SEEKING TRUTH OUTSIDE ISLAM

  • Pray for divine encounters and revelation: Ask God to reveal Himself personally to seekers through dreams, visions, Scripture, and encounters with believers who reflect the love of Christ.
  • Pray for courage to pursue the truth: Many Muslims who begin questioning their faith face fear of rejection or persecution. Pray that God gives them courage to keep seeking, no matter the cost.
  • Pray for access to God’s Word: Pray that seekers will find the Bible, online resources, or media that explain who Jesus truly is—the Son of God who loves them and offers salvation.
  • Pray for wise and compassionate believers: Lift up Christians who interact with Muslim seekers. Pray that they show patience, humility, and sensitivity as they share the gospel and build authentic and sincere friendships.
  • Pray for hearts ready to receive Jesus: Ask the Holy Spirit to soften hearts, remove confusion or fear, and open their eyes to recognize Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
