A Divine Appointment in Thailand
Day 19: A Divine Appointment in Thailand
The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him. – Psalm 37:23
*Jeremy settled into his airplane seat bound for Bangkok letting out a sigh of relief. Finally, a few days of rest and a Christian conference — a chance to recharge. As he leaned back, his thoughts drifted to the week ahead… when suddenly, he heard a quiet, unmistakable voice: “Tell the lady sitting next to you that I know her and love her.”
Jeremy knew it was the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Jeremy glanced sideways. The young woman seated beside him in full Muslim attire, was reading quietly, headphones on.
His heart skipped a beat. Culturally, he knew it would be awkward—or even inappropriate—for a man to initiate a conversation with her, a Muslim woman.
But the prompt felt urgent, impossible to ignore.
Swallowing his hesitation, he leaned in slightly and said, “Asalaam alaikum… I hope I’m not disturbing you. I’m a Christian, and a few minutes ago, I felt God wanted me to tell you that He knows you and loves you.”
The young woman froze. Her eyes widened, and her voice trembled as she stammered, “You’re a Christian!? I … I’ve just been reading the Bible. Can you… can you help me understand it?”
Jeremy’s heart leapt. “Yes, of course!” he replied, stunned by God’s timing. Then without thinking he asked: “Where do you live? Maybe my wife could meet with you to explain more.”
*Zaynub’s reply sent chills down his spine: she lived in Chiang Mai, the same city, the same neighborhood, and—as they pieced it together—the same street! It was almost as if God had placed her right there, on that very flight, at that very moment, orchestrating the encounter.
Later that week, Jeremy’s wife met Zaynub and began a study of Scripture with her. A divine appointment had unfolded in the most ordinary of circumstances—a simple airplane seat—proving yet again that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His timing, perfect.

HOW WE CAN PRAY
- Pray for spiritual openness: Ask God to soften hearts among Thai Muslims, that they may be curious about Jesus and encounter Him personally through dreams, visions, or through the witness of believers.
- Pray for local believers: Lift up the missionary teams working among Muslims. Pray for courage, wisdom, and protection as they share the gospel and build relationships.
- Pray for peace and protection: Many Thai Muslims live in regions affected by unrest and social tension. Pray for safety, stability, and protection from violence for these communities.
- Pray for families and youth: Pray that young Muslims and their families would have access to education and resources, and that they would experience God’s love in practical, life-changing ways.
