For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!- ROMANS 5:10
Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning province in northeast China, boasts a population of eight million. Founded over 2,300 years ago, it has grown into one of the country’s most important industrial hubs.
Once the capital of the Qing dynasty, Shenyang still features the grand Mukden Palace, a notable landmark from this era. The city was also occupied by Japan from 1931 to 1945, a period that left a significant mark on its history.
Shenyang is one of China’s most ethnically and religiously diverse cities. It is home to 37 of China’s 55 ethnic minorities and houses the world’s second-largest Korean community.
The gospel was introduced to Shenyang in 1872 by Presbyterian missionaries. Today, the city, like the rest of China, officially recognizes five major religions, including Protestantism.
