Meet the Cheshires
Nathaniel left his career as a pilot when he and his wife, Amber, became missionaries with Beyond, serving among unreached people in Mongolia. While pioneering a church plant in a remote village in Uvs Province, God placed a vision on their hearts that would become the Hope Flight Project.
That vision was born out of a deeply personal crisis. When their 8-year-old son developed severe double-lobar pneumonia, there was no qualified pilot available to evacuate him from the isolated countryside. What began as a desperate need became a divine calling—to bring life-saving access and hope to others living in some of the world’s most remote regions.
Bringing Help—and the Hope of Christ
Nathaniel has been preparing for the launch of Hope Flight by serving as an air ambulance pilot with Life Flight, where he flies critical Medevac missions—often in high-pressure, life-or-death situations. In addition to his flight credentials, he is a certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) technician, giving him the rare ability to inspect, maintain, and repair both aircraft structures and engines. This dual expertise means greater safety, reliability, and sustainability for aviation ministry in remote regions.
With more than 7,110 hours as Pilot-in-Command, and extensive experience flying Caravans and PC-12s, Nathaniel has proven himself in demanding environments—navigating high altitudes, complex terrain, and advanced avionics with confidence and precision. His background uniquely equips him to serve some of the world’s most isolated communities.
The Cheshires plan to move back to Mongolia this summer with the goal of launching Hope Flight. Beyond medical evacuation, the vision extends even further: local Mongolian disciple makers will be trained to manage countryside airstrips, creating a powerful bridge between practical service and church planting. Through Hope Flight, aviation will not only fulfill a humanitarian need—but help plant and strengthen gospel movements in hard-to-reach places.
